GET DOWN, GET DIRTY, GET INVOLVED!CLDS is looking for (more than) a few good volunteers to help build the foundation of the organization. The following committees are being formed now and could use your help:
Fundraising Committee: Sets fundraising goals, solicits contributions, and plans fundraising activities.
Grants Committee: Identifies grants that the CLDS may be eligible for and prepares applications.
Membership Committee: Recruits new members, nominates board officers for election to their position, and plans membership drives.
Communications Committee: Responsible
for writing newspaper press releases, developing content for the
website and newsletter, and posting articles to the blog.
Education Committee: Responsible for planning and coordinating educational programs such as workshops and seminars.
Garden Committee: Helps manage, maintain, and coordinate the development of the CLDS demonstration/community garden(s).

The CLDS is also accepting material and equipment donations for the Butler Township Community Garden. Items currently needed include:
- Gazebo (20' hexagon)

x 24' coldframe (greenhouse)
- Garden tools
(both adult and children)
- Wheelbarrows
- Garden Hoses (100')
- Soaker Hoses
- Watering
Cans
- Seeds/seedlings (inquire for a list of species)
- Rain Barrel
The CLDS is looking for monetary and material/equiment donations to support our educational programs, garden development, and public outreach initiatives. All contributions are tax deductable. Call Krista Schneider at 570-578-5903 for more information. Within the next few months, the CLDS will be able to accept credit card payments on-line.
